Cravens Resignation Official City Press Release

Press Release – For Immediate Release
September 28, 2016

The City of Bloomfield Hills announces City Manager, Jay Cravens will be resigning effective October 21, 2016.  Mr. Cravens has accepted a position with the Town of Collierville, Tennessee.   The move will bring Jay and his wife Laurie closer to family in Tennessee.  “The City of Bloomfield Hills is a unique and wonderful community to work for and I have had the honor of working with an excellent staff.  While I will miss the area, I am looking forward to spending more time with my granddaughter,” said Jay Cravens.
“We thank Jay for his leadership over the past 10 years and all he has done for the city, we wish him the best in his new assignment,” said Mayor Pro Tem Mike Coakley.

During an open meeting on Wednesday, September 28th, the City Commission appointed Director of Public Safety David Hendrickson to serve as the Interim City Manager while the search for a permanent City Manager is underway.  The City Commission voted to procure a Municipal Search Firm and has appointed City Clerk, Amy Burton to oversee the executive search for a permanent replacement.
